Air/Ground 2

Many people had grandfathers, fathers, uncles and other relatives who flew from these bases. The opportunity is now available to view these stations either from the air or from the ground. From the air, these bases are but a few minutes from each other. You can fly through the same airspace as your relatives did all those years ago. Put yourself in their flying boots and sheepskin jacket! The Lincolnshire `Bomber Base` Air/Ground Tours gives you the chance to experience a flight in a variety of different aircraft piloted by flying instructors. Under thier guidance you can take control of the aircraft yourself.

Lincolnshire Bomber Base Air/Ground Tours? is a subsidiary of Robert Gibson-Bevan Country Events Ltd. For many years, Mr Gibson-Bevan sucessfully hosted the Lancaster `Just Jane` taxi ride days for the Panton family at the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre at East Kirkby. During that period, many people experiencing the thrill of the Lancaster ride expressed an interest in viewing the former bomber bases that the famous aircraft flew from and seeing what they look like some 62 years after war.

In late 2006, Mr Gibson-Bevans contractual arrangements with the Museum were terminated which allowed him the opportunity to arrange these visits in a variety of different aircraft types.
